This Sunday’s Message “An Offering of Hope” Ephesians 1:15-23
Here at Port Orange Presbyterian church, we believe that we are called to give life to our faith by being vessels of God’s non-anxious presence – full of compassion and love. We encourage you to “be the church” during this difficult time. Reach out to 2-4 friends or family members by phone or email on a daily basis – just to let them know you care. When you are out in the community, shopping or getting supplies, do your best to be a calming presence. Thank the cashiers and employees, offer words of grace and support. If some is short with you; forgive, show compassion and even a sense of humor!
We also want you to be taking care of yourself. I encourage you to spend some time doing what works best for you; resting, reading a book, exercising, running, walking, prayer and meditation, Bible study or devotionals, mindfulness; perhaps journaling, forms of expressive arts or your favorite hobby. No matter when this health crises ends my sense is that the mental and spiritual health fallout will extend far into the future. We each need to be looking at this a marathon and pacing ourselves accordingly.
I hope and pray that you and your loved ones are able to stay calm, safe and healthy. I know that this crisis brings with it feelings of anxiety, worry and stress.
