Rev. Stacy Chandler has been an ordained pastor in the PCUSA for 24 years. She and her husband Chris, who is also an ordained minister, met at the seminary and will be celebrating their twenty-fourth wedding anniversary this month. They have four children; Anna who is 23, Ella and Lydia who are 20, and their youngest Caleb who just turned 12 this summer. Over the years she has served as a hospital chaplain, youth pastor, associate pastor of family and children, contemporary worship leader, preschool chaplain, director of children’s education, parish associate for pastoral care, assistant head of staff, interim pastor, and most recently as the stated supply pastor at Deltona Presbyterian Church. She has been a member of Central Florida Presbytery for 17 years.
Her “church history” is unique. Her mother is Seventh-Day-Adventist, her father is Presbyterian, and most of her extended family is Catholic. Growing up she went to Mass on Fridays, the Adventist church on Saturdays, and the Presbyterian church on Sundays. In college, she attended a Congregationalist Church as well as an AME Church. Upon graduating from Simmons University, she moved to Boca Raton Florida, and worked at Lynne University. During that time, she became an active member at Delray Beach Presbyterian Church. Eventually, the Presbyterians won out! Rev. Stacy hails from Peekskill New York, and has served in New Jersey, Northern Ireland, and Florida. She studied Voice at the New England Conservatory of Music and Westminster Choir College. She received her MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary and a BA in English from Simmons University in Boston. She enjoys “attempting” to play piano, mandolin, and bagpipes (her most recent personal challenge). She loves the grandeur of the mountains and the ocean and continues to feel deeply humbled and privileged to serve God and the Church.
